Didner Family at the Oregon Zoo

Well, we lost our APS camera.  So it seemed like it was finally time to buckle down and buy a digital camera.  After some research and waiting for a decent price, we ended up with the Canon S300 Digital Elph.  You can see the results of the initial efforts in the above and below pictures.

You can also tell that we eat at McDonald's fairly often and that we bought a season pass to the Oregon Zoo, since both boys, and especially Joey, love to see aminals (as it's pronounced by Joey).  Having said that, they seem to enjoy the sandbox and climbing on the rocks and statues at least as much as seeing the animals.

We haven't actually gotten around to sending a 'family update' letter yet so this will have to suffice.  We have done some interesting things, like taking the boys to San Francisco to see the Mets play the Giants, where we were joined by Jon, Michelle and Willie (Ganma and Ganba), and Davis and Christina.  Unfortunately, the seats were too far away for the boys as evidenced by Aaron's statement when I took him to the snack line.  He pointed at the monitor and said, "Dad, look!  There's a baseball game on!  Let's watch."  It was a very short weekend trip but we learned that Joey is NOT a good flyer as he screamed for over 45 minutes of the 2 plus hour flight (He didn't like being confined to the seat.)  While in San Francisco though, Joey absolutely LOVED the Sea-Lions at the wharf and threw a tantrum when we finally decided it was time to leave, which is a fairly typical thing for him to do.

We have also sold our house and are buying a new one that's 11 miles closer to downtown Portland.  Until the new house is ready in the second half of July, 2001, we are renting our former house from the new owners.  We'll send an update with contact information when we have it all.

In preparation for the move, we had a big garage sale.  Sold more stuff than I could imagine and the biggest selling item was Michael's comic books (one guy basically bought all of my comic books in one shot), which is a good thing because eBay has ruined the second hand market.

Upcoming plans include moving into the new house, going to Taiwan in September and trying to be a little more proactive socially, as having young children has made us somewhat more reclusive than we want to be.

Please keep in touch and let us know what's going on in your lives!
